He started his international career at Gartner Inc. (Stamford/USA) and then held C-level executive positions at ricardo.AG, Bertelsmann AG, Deutsche Post DHL Group, Metro AG, SSP Group plc. and HAVI Supply Chain. His profound expertise includes operations, sales & marketing, commercial, digital transformation, change management, value change engineering, sustainable creation & expansion of new business and brands. In November 2021, he has joined Munich Airport as Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Security Officer, incl. IT/Digital (CIO) and Technology (CTO) (since 2024).

Metodi Stoyanov is Director of Security at SOF Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport. He leads the activities of the Security Directorate, with his main responsibilities including the implementation of the National Civil Aviation Security Program. Metodi is also responsible for the maintenance and efficient operation of the airport’s X-ray equipment, ensuring its reliability and compliance with international safety and security standards. With a degree in Engineering Technology, Metodi Stoyanov has over 17 years of leadership experience in integrated supply chain management, optimization of production processes, and the implementation of efficient technological solutions. His combination of expertise in security and extensive experience in industrial management makes him a valuable expert in the maintenance of X-ray systems and related technological processes.

Nikolay brings 20+ years of academic experience in scientific research in the field of Applied Physics, focusing on innovative measurement techniques with industrial applications. He has more than 5years’ experience in the development and implementation of IoT systems for condition-based monitoring of X-ray inspection systems with scientific results in thermal monitoring of X-ray generators.
Nikolay has authored more than 20 articles featured in SCOPUS-indexed scientific journals and conference series. He is also head of 5+ scientific research funding projects, 2 utility models, and other patent applications.
