Palki Sharma Gets SEO Facts Wrong, Sparks Reactions From Digital Marketing Experts

Popular journalist Palki Sharma, currently Managing Editor at Firstpost and host of “Vantage,” is facing backlash from digital marketing experts after a recent segment on Google Search and SEO aired incorrect information.

In a widely viewed YouTube response, SEO professional Amit Tiwari pointed out that Firstpost’s coverage of AI-driven search changes was done without consulting genuine SEO professionals, spreading confusion about how Google’s new “AI Overview” and “AI Mode” features work.

On Firstpost’s flagship show, managed and anchored by Palki Sharma, a recent episode claimed that new AI search tools are “killing” SEO and are direct replacements for Google Search.

Digital marketers quickly disagreed; Amit Tiwari noted that these tools are actually extensions, meant to make search and SEO more advanced, not obsolete.

He urged media outlets to consult field experts before broadcasting such claims and criticised the spread of “fake news” on technical topics.

Palki Sharma is one of India’s most respected English news anchors, known for her clear storytelling style and strong opinions. She began her career in 2002 at Doordarshan and soon moved to print journalism with Hindustan Times.

Palki gained fame as an anchor and Senior Editor at CNN-News18, where she covered major national and global events.

In 2019, she became Managing Editor at WION, hosting the show “Gravitas,” which won awards for its international coverage.

Palki was widely praised for making complex news stories easy to understand and for breaking down global affairs into relatable issues. Her direct approach and data-driven style became popular not only in India but around the world.

Since 2022, Sharma has led opinion and news shows at Firstpost, using her “Palki style” to deliver both facts and strong viewpoints. She has won multiple awards, including “Best International News Show” and “Best News Reader,” making her a recognised youth icon in journalism.

While Palki Sharma remains a popular and respected anchor famous for simplifying big news stories, the recent SEO controversy shows why collaborating with topic experts is more important than ever in today’s fast-changing digital world.
