OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. – Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 17, Oklahomans will experience a faster, simpler way to handle driver license and motor vehicle transactions. Service Oklahoma’s new unified platform brings together services that were previously managed through separate systems, reducing wait times, expanding online capabilities and introducing enhanced security protections.
“This is Service Oklahoma doing exactly what it was created to do—making it easier and faster for Oklahomans to renew a driver license, register a vehicle and handle other essential transactions,” said Diedra O’Neil, Chief Executive of Strategy and Operations. “Whether online or in person, customers now have a unified experience, spending less time on paperwork and more time on what matters to them.”
What Customers Can Expect
In-person transactions that previously took 20 minutes or more will now be completed in under 10 minutes for standard services. Online, the new Navigate platform replaces OkCARS as the single entry point for driver license and motor vehicle services online—consolidating what previously required multiple platforms into one mobile-friendly destination accessible from anywhere.
New Credential Design
As part of its system modernization, Service Oklahoma will introduce newly redesigned driver license and state ID cards that significantly enhance credential security while reflecting Oklahoma’s identity. The new cards are produced using a highly durable material that supports advanced, tamper-resistant features designed to prevent counterfeiting and reduce cracking or peeling over time. The design prominently features iconic Oklahoma symbols, including the North American bison, scissortail flycatcher and redbud tree.
Existing Oklahoma credentials will remain valid until their expiration date. The new credential will be issued at no additional cost when a customer renews or replaces their card, with the option to choose either a REAL ID–compliant or non-compliant credential.
A brief video highlight of the new credential and some of its security features is available, including a 40-second highlight and a two-minute detailed version.

“Service Oklahoma is among the state’s newest agencies. When the legislature entrusted us in 2022 to deliver motor vehicle and driver license services for Oklahoma, we understood the magnitude of that responsibility,” said Jay Doyle, Chief Executive Officer. “This modernized platform and new credential reflect our continued commitment to efficient, secure service that Oklahomans can count on. At the heart of it, we are the keepers of Oklahoma’s identities, and we take that very seriously.”
